This last week my family needed everything I had. And I needed them. There are just some weeks when you have to pull in, tune out, and tend to the most important ministry you’ll ever have: your family.
This was one such week for me. For us.
There are certain stresses and tensions that come with raising kids with special needs. So much so that the life expectancy for parents with a child with special needs is 10 YEARS LESS than their peers with neurotypical children. And the divorce rate is between 2 and 4 times as high. The pressure is real—and it can be disastrous for a family when not expressed or dealt with properly.
And while writing is both an act of love and obedience for me, it is never meant to be those things at the cost of myself or my family. I am not Superwoman, and I am done pretending I can do it all—I can’t. The bigger my “yes” is for one thing, the bigger my “no” or “not yet” has to be for another. And that’s ok.
So while I don’t have any words for you this week, I again offer Words of Life I’ve been meditating on. I hope they bless you in whatever challenges you’re facing.

When anxiety overtakes me and worries are many,
Your comfort lightens my soul.
Psalm 94:19
*
The Eternal One will never leave you;
He will lead you in the way that you should go.
When you feel dried up and worthless,
God will nourish you and give you strength.
And you will grow like a garden lovingly tended;
you will be like a spring whose water never runs out.
Isaiah 59:11

A new day is dawning:
the Sunrise from the heavens will break through in our darkness,
And those who huddle in night,
those who sit in the shadow of death,
Will be able to rise and walk in the light,
guided in the pathway of peace.
Luke 1:78b–79
